The project that involves the construction of the metro line 2 in Turin begins to be real. The resolution for the tender design of the new infrastructure has been, in fact, approved by the City Council.

The new alignment of the Line 2 will continue to cover North/South and East/West areas of the city and its length will be of about 21 kilometers, 14 in Turin and 7 in the town of Orbassano. The alignment has been divided into 4 lots in order to make the construction phase easier and to find the financial resources: the first stretch to be realized will be “Rebaudengo – Scalo Vanchiglia”, the second stretch will be “Cemetery – Parco Zappata”, the third one “Zappata – Porta Nuova” and finally the fourth between “Porta Nuova” and “Scalo Vanchiglia”.

With the approved resolution, three main variants have been also defined: the metro line 2 will pass close to the Einaudi’s university campus, in the area of Pescarito Interport in San Mauro Torinese and in Caio Mario square and Bengasi square.
